Pick your stitch

Embroidery is not one look. It is a whole toolkit. The style you choose changes how your logo catches light, how it feels in the hand and how it reads from across the street. Here is what we stitch in Downtown LA, and when each one shines.

Flat embroidery

Thread stitched directly into the fabric surface, using satin and running stitches for clean edges and fill. It is the classic: refined on polos, sharp on caps, at home on uniforms, towels and totes. If you are not sure, start here.

Best for: corporate logos, left-chest marks, text, detailed shapes.

3D puff embroidery

Foam goes down first, then thread stitches over it, so the design rises off the garment. Bold, sculpted and instantly recognizable on the front of a cap.

Best for: hat fronts, chunky lettering, bold logos. Skip it for thin lines and small type.

Appliqué

Fabric cutouts are layered onto the garment and stitched around the edges. You get contrasting colors and textures, and big designs without a massive stitch count.

Best for: varsity letters, large chest or back designs, playful texture.

Patches

Your design stitched as a standalone patch, then attached to the garment. Patches give a clean, finished edge and work on items that are tricky to stitch directly.

Best for: jackets, bags, hats, workwear.

Chenille

The fuzzy, looped texture of a letterman jacket. Soft, nostalgic and loud in the best way.

Best for: varsity looks, bold initials, statement pieces.

Monogram

Initials or short names in a clean script or block letter. Small, personal and polished.

Best for: gifts, staff names, robes and towels.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What is the difference between flat and 3D puff embroidery?

Flat embroidery is stitched directly on the fabric surface. 3D puff stitches over a foam base so the design stands up off the garment, a look common on caps.

Can 3D puff be used on small text?

Not well. Puff needs bold shapes and thick letters. Fine lines and small text should stay flat.

What is appliqué embroidery?

Fabric cutouts are stitched onto the base garment, layering colors and textures. It is a good way to make large designs without a huge stitch count.

Do you ship embroidery orders outside Los Angeles?

Yes. We ship anywhere in the continental US, and local customers can pick up at the shop.
